Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: negotiable depending on experience
Location: Hull

About the role:

Project Coordinating involves dealing with a variety of translation services including translations, audio, transcriptions and more. You will be dealing with Translation projects from start to finish which means the success of each project is in your hands. You need to show common sense, have a “can-do” attitude, enjoy a busy environment and be adept at multi-tasking. Also, good computer literacy is key and you should be eager to strengthen and develop your personal and technical skills. One of the most important attributes you can bring to this role is to stay calm when times are busy. The translation industry is very deadline-driven and often things happen simultaneously, which is exactly what makes it so fast-paced and exciting.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Planning, scheduling and monitoring translation projects
  • Sourcing and coordination of translators and other language professionals including negotiation
  • Proofreading and QA-checking of translations
  • Effective communication with clients, linguists and colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction including answering incoming calls from clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Understand and abide by individual project instructions
  • Data entry
  • Work effectively in a team driven environment
  • Dealing with emails from clients and translators to maintain good relationships

What you will need
Essential:

  • Excellent organisation and timekeeping
  • Strong communication, both written and oral
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • A positive and friendly attitude
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • The ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines in a team environment
  • Customer service and/or project coordination experience
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office as well as the ability to learn new software
  • Excellent computer literacy

Desirable:

  • University Degree/A Levels
  • Knowledge of another language
  • Previous experience within the Translation industry
