Business Development Officer Wanted - for Hull Offices

Are you hard working? Ambitious? Dynamic? Looking for new challenges with high rewards? Due to increased business activities in our Hull offices, we now have an exciting new opening for a Business Development Officer
As a Business Development Officer, you'll be responsible for building up business through gaining new customers and accounts.
Your exact level of responsibility may vary widely, according to your experience and seniority. However, that said, your routine work is likely to include:
Identifying and following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings
- Planning, preparing and delivering presentations
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships
- Communicating our services to prospective clients
- Attending networking events and trade shows
- Overseeing the development of marketing literature
- Administering accounts and writing reports
- Liaising between clients and operational teams
- Providing management with market feedback
Hours and Environment
You will usually work office hours, Monday to Friday. Your job also involves travelling to visit clients and attending corporate entertainment events. You may be able to work part-time.
You'll generally have an office base, although may be able to work from home.
You'll need a driving licence.
Skills and Interests
A business development officer needs:
Good business sense Understanding the market and competitors' products Good communications skills, both written and verbally To be self-motivated but able to work as part of a team Good organisational and time-management skills A positive attitude Good negotiation skills and persuasiveness Confidence presenting to large groups of people Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information A smart appearance and professional manner To enjoy networking and meeting new people.
We have no defined qualifications for Business Development Officers. Personal qualities, particularly the ability to communicate, plus sales experience and market knowledge, are more important than formal qualifications. Some marketing or sales management qualifications (e.g. Sales & Marketing, Key Account Management etc.) may be an advantage.

Your pay may vary widely, according to your experience and track record, however our preferred method will be based on a basic salary plus uncapped commission with target earnings reaching over £50K for the right candidate.
